Anonymisation, Confidentiality, and Informed Consent Policy
For manuscripts containing information, images, or data relating to identifiable individuals, ASNJ applies the following policy:
- Anonymisation: All identifying information that could reveal a participant's identity (name, facial images, institutional affiliation, etc.) should be anonymised wherever possible.
- Confidentiality: Personal data obtained during the research process must be handled in accordance with applicable data protection regulations (e.g., Turkey's Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) and relevant international standards such as the GDPR).
- Informed consent for participation: For research involving human participants, informed consent for participation in the study must have been obtained.
- Consent for publication: Separate, explicit consent must be obtained from participants for the publication of any identifiable images, audio, video, or personal data.
Every article containing potentially identifiable material must include a statement confirming that the appropriate consent was obtained.
Ethics approval: Research involving human or animal subjects must have approval from an independent ethics committee or institutional review board. Authors must state the name of the approving body and the approval number in the manuscript. Authors in countries without such a body should provide a link to an official national policy explaining this. Where verbal, rather than written, consent was obtained, this must be explicitly stated in the manuscript.
