International Journal of Applied Business and Management Studies (IJABMS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal follows the ethical guidelines set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Duties of Editors
Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of their academic merit (originality, validity, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope), without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors or reviewers for their own research purposes without the express written consent of the author.
Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published, guided by editorial board policies and constrained by legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
Duties of Reviewers
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and, through editorial communication with the author, may also assist authors in improving their manuscript.
Any manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document. It must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and should call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
Reviewers must disclose to editors any conflicts of interest before agreeing to review a manuscript.
Duties of Authors
Authors of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work.
Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. Where the authors have used the work and/or words of others, this must be appropriately cited or quoted.
An author should not, in general, publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.
Authors should disclose any use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., large language models) in the preparation of their manuscript, beyond routine language correction, editing, and formatting. AI tools may not be listed as authors or cited as authoritative sources, and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work.
All authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript.
Plagiarism and Similarity Check
All submissions are screened with similarity-detection software prior to peer review. The maximum acceptable similarity rate is 15%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold, or found to contain substantial unattributed material, will be returned to the authors or rejected, depending on the severity of the case.
Handling of Allegations of Misconduct
The journal will take all allegations of publication misconduct seriously. If ethical concerns are raised regarding a submitted or published manuscript, the editors will follow COPE guidelines to investigate the matter, which may involve contacting the authors' institution(s) and, where appropriate, issuing a correction, retraction, or expression of concern.
