About the Journal

EDUBA: Journal of Society, Labor and Policy Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access, and scholarly periodical aiming to publish original academic studies in the social sciences focusing on society, labor, politics, institutions, welfare, culture, media, and social transformation. The journal aims to contribute to the multi-dimensional examination of social phenomena by establishing theoretical, empirical, and methodological connections between different disciplines of the social sciences.

EDUBA's primary goal is to bridge the gap between increasing specialization in the social sciences and the need for interdisciplinary research. To this end, the journal prioritizes studies that evaluate areas such as working life, labor relations, social policy, economic transformation, social inequalities, media and communication processes, digitalization, institutions, public policies, and social change not as isolated topics, but within shared social contexts.

The journal's focus areas include labor economics, industrial relations, social policy, sociology, political economy, labor studies, trade unionism, the welfare state, inequality, migration, gender, media and communication, digitalization and society, public policy, management, and organizational studies. In addition, studies from social science fields such as education, law, political science, public administration, cultural studies, and similar areas that are clearly related to the journal's focus on society, labor, and politics are also considered.

EDUBA is open to research articles that contribute theoretically, empirically, and methodologically. Submitted works are expected not only to describe a specific phenomenon but also to establish a clear relationship with the relevant literature, to clearly articulate the research question, to demonstrate methodological consistency, and to offer an original contribution to the field of social sciences. Qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, and comparative research; theoretical discussions; methodological contributions; field research; and analyses of discourse, content, policy, documents, and institutions are within the journal's scope.

The journal aims to make the national social science body of knowledge visible and to connect it with international academic literature. Therefore, EDUBA considers Turkey-based research not only as local examples but also as studies that can contribute to broader theoretical and comparative discussions. The journal aims to adhere to the standards of national academic publishing while achieving long-term visibility in international indexes and contributing to international academic circulation in the social sciences.

Exclusions

EDUBA excludes engineering, clinical health sciences, medicine, natural sciences, laboratory-based experimental sciences, and purely technical/applied studies from its publication scope. However, studies examining the impact of technology, digitalization, artificial intelligence, data-driven management, production systems, and engineering applications on society, labor, politics, institutions, media, or social relations within a social scientific framework may be considered.

The journal does not consider commentary articles with limited academic contribution, evaluation texts with weak methodological foundations, articles based solely on reporting current events, studies that do not comply with scientific research ethics, texts that constitute plagiarism or duplicate publications, and submissions that do not have a clear relationship with the journal's aims and scope.
